Are you just mobile or can I come to your clinic also?

We are a purely mobile service offering consultations and surgical procedures outside your front door. This means we do not have a ”bricks and mortar” practice you can attend.

What areas do you cover? Can you come outside of your catchment zone?

We offer home visits within our catchment zone only. To be able to offer the best service to our clients, we cannot provide home visits outside of this catchment area.

The only exception is with end of life care; please call us as we might be able to help you.

Do I need to be registered with another vet?

It’s entirely up to you if you want to remain or be registered with another vet. If in the circumstance we cannot accommodate a service your pet needs we work closely with the static practice Bridge Vets in Middlesbrough who will be able to treat your pet as necessary.

Why is the initial consultation fee more expensive than my usual vet?

A bricks and mortar veterinary practice is able to see around three times as many pets in one day as we can. We don’t time our consultations so that we can provide a more personal service; this is a real priority for us.

I have my pet insured, will I be able to claim for your service and the home visits?

Yes. The home visit and consultation fees are all part of the veterinary service needed for your pet, so insurance covers this.

How and when do I pay?

Payment in full is taken at the end of the visit either by cash or card. All charges will be discussed with the owner prior to any treatments or medicines given so everyone is happy. Please note we do not do payment plans or claim directly with insurance companies.

What can I expect on the day of my pet’s appointment?

You will receive a two-hour time slot; we’ll endeavour to keep to this as much as possible! Please be present at home during your time slot and we will call you when we are on our way.

We will perform the consultation either in your home or the van, depending on your pet’s needs. Afterwards, we will take the payment and dispense any medicines required.

Why can I not book myself an exact appointment time?

Due to the nature of the business, we are often treating pets that are nervous about seeing the vet. This means we cannot time exactly how long each appointment will take.

We will give you a 2-3 hour time slot of which we will arrive in, and when you are our next appointment we will call you to tell you our exact ETA based on sat nav.

Do we cover our own out of hours?

Outside of our normal office hours of 9-6 Monday- Friday our OOH provider is called MiNight Vet who is located in Middlesbrough. They also cover bank holidays and weekends.

What services are you unable to provide?

There are 3 circumstances that we are not be able to assist with (although we work closely with Bridge vets in Middlesbrough who are able to provide what we can not). 1. Regular X-rays – at this time we do not have a regular X-ray in our vans. We do however have a dental X-ray that is able to image paws, tails, skinny cat legs and of course teeth! 2. The true emergency – if your pet was in a road traffic accident, had breathing difficulties, was bleeding etc then we would be unlikely to attend fast enough. Even though our vans are ex ambulances they are not designed for this purpose anymore! We work on an appointment based system and cover a fairly large area so attending a house call in a true emergency situation might not be possible 3. Hospitalisation – due to the nature of being mobile we cannot provide this, as we do not have a static clinic. If your pet was very sick they might need this service. We would be able to advise you if this were the case for your pet and arrange alternatives accordingly.

What if I did have an emergency?

If something was very urgent during office hours then please call us as we will be able to advise on what to do and if we can come out to see you or if it’s more appropriate for you to attend a static practice straight away.
